We’re excited to introduce a new role designed to support people who have a disability or health condition that is, or is becoming, a barrier to their employment. This innovative approach offers an alternative — or complement — to the traditional sick note, providing more tailored support to help individuals remain in or return to work.
Who can access this service?
Access to this support service could come from several routes, including:
✅ Requesting a sick/fit note from your GP
✅ Referral by your employer (with your consent)
✅ Self-referral
✅ Referral from Job Centre Plus or Council Benefits teams
Who might benefit?
This service is aimed at individuals who are:
- Employed and working, but experiencing regular periods of sickness absence.
- Employed but currently not working, either self-certified or signed off by their GP.
What health conditions are covered?
We aim to help people with a broad range of conditions that often don’t need intensive medical intervention but do require timely support. This includes:
- Mental Health concerns (like stress, anxiety, depression)
- Musculoskeletal (MSK) issues, such as back, neck, or joint pain that may be helped by physiotherapy or guided exercise
- Conditions linked to Menopause
- Neurodiversity, such as ADHD or autism, where workplace adjustments and coaching could make a big difference
- Other conditions where general counselling, coaching, or low-level medical interventions could support someone to stay well at work
Why is this important?
Our goal is to provide proactive, person-centred support that helps individuals manage their health alongside their employment, reducing the need for long-term absence and improving overall wellbeing.
