Important Update: Weight Loss Injections

📞 Due to a high number of enquiries, we’d like to clarify the current NHS prescribing rules for weight loss injections.

💊 These treatments are only available under strict NHS criteria.
GPs can only prescribe if ALL the following apply:

✅ BMI of 40 or above
AND
✅ Diagnosis of 4 or more of the following conditions:

🔹 High blood pressure (hypertension)
🔹 High cholesterol (dyslipidaemia)
🔹 Cardiovascular disease (e.g. stroke, heart attack)
🔹 Obstructive sleep apnoea
🔹 Type 2 diabetes

📌 You must also have completed a formal NHS weight management programme, such as:
• NHS Digital Weight Management Service
• Diabetes Prevention Programme

🕒 There is discussion of expanding access to those with BMI 35–39.9 in future (with 4+ conditions), but no confirmed timeline yet.
