Our highly qualified nurses deal with a range of conditions and health concerns. They examine patients, make a diagnosis and can plan care.  They work together with the doctors so that they can offer more expertise in many areas of disease management such as diabetes, coronary heart disease, COPD and asthma. For an appointment or further details, please call our main Stanmore House Surgery on (01562) 822647.

pregnant3 Maternity Clinic - Thursday afternoon 

Antenatal clinics are run by the midwife by appointment only. After the first appointment with a doctor you will be given a ‘booking appointment’ at which the midwife will ask you a few questions and carry out some general health checks. This care is shared with the the community midwife and a hospital specialist if required. You will be seen regularly throughout your pregnancy either at the practice or at the local hospital, or both. You can also see any doctor in ordinary surgery times.

Well Baby and Immunisation Clinic on Wednesday 1.00pm-3.00pm

This clinic is run by Dr Wilson, our Health Visitors and practice nurses. All new babies are invited for regular routine immunisations and necessary developmental checks. A 6-week check is done by the patient’s registered GP.

Minor surgery - By appointment only

Minor operations are performed by Dr Seakins performed in our treatment room on Tuesday afternoons. Please discuss with your doctor who will then arrange for you to be given an appointment.

Diabetic Clinic - By appointment only diabetic_taking_reading

This clinic is run by Dr Chamberlain and Sister Colgan. All diabetics on our register are invited for annual checks. Regular six month reviews of diabetic control are encouraged, as good control of diabetes helps avoid long-term complications.

Respiratory Clinic - By appointment only

This clinic is run by Dr Cockrell and Sister Blackmore. Patients are taught how to use their inhaler devices correctly and how to control their symptoms and monitor their progress.

Smoking Clinic - By appointment only

Run by our practice nurses, these sessions give advice and support (and prescriptions if necessary) to patients trying to give up smoking.

Travel Clinic - By appointment only

We are a registered practice for all overseas injections including Yellow Fever.

Healthy Living/Well Person Clinic - By appointment only

This clinic is run by our practice nurses.

Family Planning/HRT - By prior appointment the_pill

HRT/Pill checks are carried out by the practice nurses or the GPs in normal surgeries.  All contraceptive services are free.  We will always offer you a same day appointment for emergency contraception.

Cardiovascular Clinic - By appointment only

This clinic is run by Sister Jones.

Phlebotomy - Blood Sampling

Patients referred from clinics for blood tests will be seen via appointment.

Counsellor

Counselling is to help you work through a wide range of personal and family difficulties. A referral is by the doctor or Nurse Practitioner.
